Summary:
It's always a small surprise to revisit this movie and realize what a subtly dark performance James Stewart gives as an alcoholic who claims he keeps company with a six-foot-tall, invisible rabbit. As Elwood P. Dowd, the actor emits a faint whiff of decay and spirits, yet Stewart also embraces Dowd's romanticism and grace with splendid ease. Based on a hit play and directed by Henry Koster, the film is terribly funny at times, especially whenever Elwood decides it's only polite to introduce Harvey to complete strangers. The supporting cast can't be beat.

I've always had a bit of a crush on Jimmy Stewart. Don't tell my husband that. Harvey is the funniest movie he made... I think. I highly recommend it to everyone.

This is a great movie. It stars James Stewart and he has a make believe friend. I won't tell you who or what his friend is, you will just have to watch the movie. It is one of the great classics of it's time. Take the time to watch it and you will not regret it. The movie will make you laugh. Enjoy !!Harvey

When I saw this as a kid I really did not get it, now that I am older I think it is a real comedy classic.

Everyone needs a "Harvey". Who better to share one's confidences with and to simply hang out. This is my all time, favorite movie -- it's simple, light spirited, and happy, and inspiring. A good reminder to myself and to everyone else in the world, that things aren't always what they seem (to be). Elwood (played by Jimmy Stewart) did not let other's perceptions of his reality sway him. He continued on his own happy, polite, well-mannered, way in life.
